What I did:    
Error Message: only one device an synchronise with an account

The resulting problem is:
I had to restore our iPad, no sync happened lost data.
the system thinks it is a new iPad and wont sync.

how do I release iPad?

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your post.

Easiest is to ask a Power Teacher (or make yourself a Power Teacher)...

A Power Teacher can go to 'All School Data' (using the web interface). Then go to the 'Settings' tab. Then click 'Release the synchronised mobile device from a teacher account'.  It should then be obvious from there.
