Component: iPhone What I did: set up sysnchronisation and tried to synchronise Error Message: :"The PC you are synchronising with has a School demo license which doesn't allow synchronising. To sync, switch to "Individual deploymenmt" in the administrator section of the web interface"
The resulting problem is: can't synchronise |

Thank you David for posting here. With the trial version on the PC you can only synchronise if it's in individual user mode. To switch modes log in to the administrator section of STEARsoft on the PC. Then see towards the bottom of the options panel on the left.
If you're trying to trial STEARsoft for full deployment in a school, then please post back here with some more details (including number of students) and I can add a more extensive trial to your account that also allows synchronising.

Marcus |

Ok, thanks. That's fixed it. The confusion was because it referred to a demo version even though we have purchased a licence. |

Thank you David, that's useful further feedback. Presumably your license is a single-user license. If you have a school license, it should have worked, in which case check you'd pressed the 'Active License' button in the administration area.

Marcus

I'm attempting a sync to ipad and it keeps timing out? Any ideas please
Thanks Neil |

Did it ever work with this iPad? If so, it's possible there's a DNS error on your network or an IP address has changed...
Try discovering the server again. On the iPad go to 'Synchronisation Setup' and then the details for 'server 1'. See if the server is being discovered and if it has the same name/IP address. If it doesn't appear at all check the server computer is on and that there isn't a firewall blocking it. If there is a firewall, try switching it off for a bit to see if it fixes the problem.

Hi Marcus, No I've never had it work yet, this is initial set up. It doesn't discover the server, so having to get on to our it people to see if there's a firewall blacking it a I'm not sure how to do this myself.
Will keep you posted Thanks Paul |
