Hi,
Twice over the last few weeks I have tried to log on and been told we dont have a registered copy. I have had to click the reauthorise/register bit so it gets a new license. This time it now says that is the last time i can do that. Clearly im very concerned that if it does it again I wont have any access to my files until I can contact you buys adn get it sorted - this would be a big problem. Also we are moving computers from one office to a different one adn on a new computer fairly soon and I am aware i will need to set it up there which i now wont be able to do as its not going to let me do it again.
Can you advice why this keeps happening and how to get this reset so it allows to to sort it if it happens again.
Best Regards,

Dear Mel,
Thanks for using the Forum.
I have reset the limit for you on 'installations' so you can move computer.
If you have changed the computer at all in terms of network cards, or you're running some advanced virtual computer within another computer, that can make STEARsoft think your registered version is not for your computer if the system updates in particular ways.
I'd be surprised if you continue to have this issue if you're not changing the 'hardware' configuration of your computer, so do let me know if this persists.
Best wishes,
Marcus. |

Thank you for that.
We have successfully moved the data across from the old computer to the new one in the new office and that seems to be working well.
However we know cant get the iphone and ipad to sync with the new computer. We have done the search for the server and found the correct one (the new computer) and selected that option. But it just then times out every-time it tries to sync with it on both devices. Are we missing something we should have done?
Best Regards,

Can the iPad and iPhone connect to the new server using the web interface? Ie using safari.

No they cant.
They can both easily find it when they search for the server though ready to do the synchronisation.

Sounds like a routing or firewall issue. Auto discovery uses UDP. The other communication is TCP. It looks like UDP frames are correctly being forwarded and are not being blocked, but TCP frames are not. You may need to adjust firewall settings, or a router if you have such a network.
I hope this helps you locate the problem.
Yours,
Marcus
P.S. I'm assuming you've not adjusted the port number from the default. |

Your right - I turned off the firewall and it worked fine. So have now added it to allowed programs.
Thank you. |

Glad to hear it's working. Thanks for posting your success; the feedback is appreciated as it helps me know what solutions work for people.
