Forum thread: Classes confused
Gill Cork 10 September 2013 15:11 |
Component: What I did: Error Message:
The resulting problem is: my Year 10 class is appearing on Today's Classes when it should be my Year 9 group that is appearing, and vice versa. However, all other classes are appearing correctly. Any suggestions? |

Dear Gill,
Thank you for your post. Sorry for the frustration caused by this confusion.
It sounds like you have changed your timetable, but not regenerated your attendance sessions. Changing your timetable is like just writing it superficially on a piece of paper. In your class attendance sheet, you need to go to 'Edit' then 'Add multiple sessions'. Choose your term, then select all classes that have been affected by the timetable change, and press 'Create Sessions'. This then uses your timetable along with term dates to (re)create blank attendance sheets for each class (sessions already created that are now no longer in your timetable will also be removed). The 'Today's Classes' screen then reflects the actual sessions that you have created rather than your superficial (current) 'timetable'. It means that 'today's classes' will correctly reflect the situation should you add extra sessions (not on your timetable), and when you look back historically after your timetable has changed.
I hope this explains the problem and empowers you to understand this slightly confusing aspect of STEARsoft.
Yours,
Marcus. |
