Forum thread: uncoded absence alert
Brendan Jones 04 March 2009 12:15 |
Component: (stearsoft.co.ukSTEARsoft web interfacePalm-device) STEARsoft version: 4.1.2 Support request: when I close a class, I get a message window appearing, listing a stack of students. Each line reads: (Date) (Student Name): uncoded absence (I've put the date and student name in brackets - the actual date and name appear)
Is there something I should be entering when I record the absence that will stop this message appearing? Its not that important, but I do like to get things working as well as I can!
Thanks, Brendan Jones |

Hi Brendan,
To clarify, I presume you are refering to the Palm interface when you talk about these messages appearing when you close a class.
Those messages are to help a teacher keep on top of absence notes. To make them disappear, you put a code letter with an absence to indicate the type of authorisation given (or a dot if unsure). However, these only appear for priority classes. If you aren't concerned about all absences being accounted for, then untick the priority option (found under menu--Options...). These messages then won't be created. To clear the existing messages, click on them and press the delete button.
I hope that solves the mystery.
