Component: (stearsoft.co.ukSTEARsoft web interfacePalm-device)
STEARsoft version: 4.1.2
Support request: Hi I have had a problem with the PC that the software is in stalled on which has required me to move the software to the server and try to install it again. I have got the warning "Sorry. STEARsoft is only licensed for one computer, and you can only change the computer STEARsoft is installed on twice within a license period. If you have a legitimate reason for changing your computer beyond this, please contact technical support to explain the situation and see if it can be changed." so are contacting you to ask if the licence can be reset? please reply via email to ryan.sykesATcambiangroup.com

Dear Ryan,

We can do this for you, and I shall ensure this gets processed for you tomorrow.

Could you please check that no-one else is using your license though - perhaps someone in your department has taken it to try at home?  Your account indicates you have activated the license on 3 different computers already (not just one as your message indicates).  The license covers one installation only.

Yours sincerely,

Marcus Butler.

Actually, I've got that actioned already, so you're good to install on your new server.

Marcus,
I wanted to try the iPhone app but the PC that I sync my phone with is a new laptop not registered as one of the computers I can use STEARsoft with (the other laptop died). Any suggestions?

Dear Brendan,

The 'lock' to a particular computer eventually expires if the license on the computer is not reactivated.

Looking at your account, enough time has passed since you installed on the initial computers that you should be able to install and validate your license on a new computer without problems (you effecively have 2 free 'slots').

Please let me know if this doesn't work, as the details I'm looking at indicate that the system should let you install on a new computer with at worst, a warning.

Yours,

Marcus.
