Dear Jeremy, Thank you for your question and observation. I'm glad you have brought this to my attention. It is a while since we evaluated our integration options in regard to SIMS, but having investigated more today, I am encouraged to explore this further. So the short answer is, "No there isn't a way that I am aware of at present", but there may be in due course. Out of interest, is your reason to want to import to SIMS purely for returning your data for government returns, or to use it within SIMS? If it is just for your returns, it may be possible to process the .csv output from STEARsoft directly. Finally, should we decide to integrate STEARsoft with SIMS, would you be interested in being a Pilot school at all? Yours, Marcus. |

Dear Vicki, Thank you for your post. I'm not aware of a school that has linked STEARsoft with sims. I'm aware of schools that run it along-side, but they're private so don't need to get the data back into sims for government returns. Setting the data up in STEARsoft should be pretty quick (under an hour probably once you know what you're doing), but obviously new students have to be changed in both places - even so, it's seen as manageable by schools. That all said, I'm keen to make STEARsoft work with sims. If you would like to work with STEARsoft to help get to a solution with sims, it would be good to talk with you. In particular, I'm not sure how merging the data back into sims would work, but I'd be keen to develop STEARsoft to produce the appropriate output to make this happen. Yours, Marcus |
