Hi,

I was just wondering is it possible to only display a certain set of data in the ipad app. When using the pc you sselect which term to view and it only shows those dates. The Ipad shows all past dates, is there a way to restrict this on the ipad to the current term?

Thanx

Mel

Thanks for your post Mel,

There isn't a way to restrict this on the iPad. There is no plan to do this at the moment either. Is there any particular context or reason for wanting to do this? I can then judge if there's some way that the App could be improved...

Marcus

Hi,

We have a set number of spaces in a class. If we have students leave at the end of a term and they aren't in the class the next term it would be helpful to have them removed from the total student count as that allows us to see how many spaces we have rather tha annoyingly having to manually count. On the PC we can set it to the current term and it will student count just those numbers. On teh ipad it includes all students ever in the class which after a while could get to a very large number and be very frustrating. I dont want to have to delete all the data in order to keep it current. What happens at the end of the year? do we have to delete everyone and all data and start again?

Hi Mel,

I think I understand, but am a little puzzled as to which student count you are referring to. On the iPad, the student count at the bottom of the attendance sheet refers to the number of students for the date range being currently shown on screen. So if you scroll to show just part of the current term it will count just those students. Zooming in (two finger gesture) might enable you to do this more effectively (to cut out old dates when there were more students). You can also mark everyone present using the flood fill feature to see the student count at any particular point in time (shown at the bottom of that entry) and then press the Undo button to blank the entries again. Might this achieve what you're trying to do?

Yours,

Marcus
