we want to use it on either windows pcs or a samsung galaxy? will you ever develop it for use on them? |

Thank you for your post. The core product works on Windows using a web browser. You can use STEARsoft on the Galaxy by using a web browser too (so like a windows PC). There are no current plans for a dedicated App like there is for Apple products, but if you've not tried the web-based solution give it a go... It has the advantage of only one installation needed and easy updates in just one place. |

I have tried to set it up and want to experiment with it before buying a school license. I have it set up on this computer but copied the web address to chrome on another computer and it doesnt work. nor on samsung chrome. what am i doing wrong. http://copthill-lt25:13031/default.html |

It looks like what you are doing is correct. The problem is usually a firewall getting in the way. On the (Windows) computer you've set STEARsoft up on try switching off the firewall to see if that fixes it. Don't forget to switch the firewall back on afterwards, and if this was the issue, configure it to unblock stearserver.exe The other thing is to ensure that both the other computer and your samsung are on the same network. Also, if you are on a managed (more sophisticated) school network the network administrator may need to allow network traffic using port 13031 through any routers/network switches. Finally, to aid your evaluation I have adjusted your license. In the administrator web page press the 'Activate license' button to grab this. If you don't like what I've done and want to revert to what you had just let me know and I'll put it back as was. |
