Forum thread: No attendance page
Anthony Roegiers 26 July 2009 00:12 |
Well, I registered for a free trial, set up my classes, filled in the timetables, did the registry thing, opened a class, but no attendance sheet comes up. All I get is a list of names. What am I not doing? |

Dear Anthony Roegiers,
Thank you for your post.
This is almost certainly because register entries will have been created only for FUTURE dates, but when you look at an attendance sheet, it only shows entries for the current week and the previous two weeks. Unfortunately, because you looked on a Sunday - that was the very end of a week, and so effectively you were only viewing PAST dates. (capitals are not shouting, just to highlight the issue here)
If you look today - you'll be on to a new week, and probably get something more like you expect.
Also note that you can use the options at the top right to select to view a whole term of data which again should give you a more expected display.
The only other thing that could be of issue here is if you've used real term dates and you're in a holiday period during which entries will not be created.
Finally, the 'Add session...' link can be used to create sessions not on your timetable.
Yours sincerely,

I can't make a register how do i do it |
Marcus Butler (STEARsoft) 11 November 2010 22:53 |
Dear Megan,
I assume you're using the web interface. Let me know if not.
I assume you've set up a teacher account and have logged in. If not, please refer to the tutorials, found on the public (not logged in) part of this website. Quick start, goes through setting up all that information.
From the main screen (first screen after logging in as a teacher), use the options panel on the left if the centre screen doesn't prompt you appropriately.
You need to: 1) Create some classes. 2) Enter a timetable. 3) Enter some term dates.
Then you can choose 'Make registers'. If you have done the 3 steps above, choose the default option here.
When you open a class screen, if no attendance sessions are showing, select the current term at the top and press Go. This is because by default it doesn't show sessions ahead of the current week.
If you're still stuck, please confirm what you have done and at what point it doesn't work. If you are following a tutorial, say at what point it doesn't work as expected.
Thank you for your patience.
Yours sincerely,
Marcus Butler |
