Forum thread: How do I add previous attendances

Hi I've just purchased the stearsoft app on the iPad.
But I have approximately 2-3 weeks of previous attendances I need to add in.
I've set the term from the 14th of January. I've created the multiple sessions on the 9th of February. Any dates prior to the 9th of February.
How can I address this.

Abdul,

Your question is a very good one...
More advanced configuration such as this is possible using the PC Application (and then synchronising), but for your particular situation you can avoid having to do this by doing the following:

1) Go to your iPad settings screen and under Date and Time (in General settings), switch off automatic update and manually set the date to say 1st Jan.
2) In STEARsoft create your multiple sessions again
3) Re-add your students, but choose the 'Add existing students' option. (should be a quick ticking process).
5) Check your attendance sheet is now as you want.
4) Return to iPad settings, set the date manually back to today, then switch auto update back on.

Hopefully that will do what you want (I've tested successfully here). The 3rd step is because students are added on the day you add them, so won't be in your class at the start of term if you don't re-add them.

Please note that this isn't designed usage, and in general changing the date on your iPad is not a good idea - in a more complex STEARsoft situation you may well get unexpected side effects.
